Today, October 3, 2011 would have been my Father-in-Law, William Harry Shewbridge's 100th birthday. I unfortunately never had the chance to meet him as he had already passed away when Bill and I started dating.
I did get to know about his character from cards and letters I found that he had written to my mother-in-law through-out their marriage when we were cleaning out their house

Thursday's Recipe Swap Meet ~ Macaroni Salad

We were out walking the dogs today and I handed Bill the three leashes I was holding to go throw something away and as I turned around and walked back I saw him and the 5 dogs he had and though he looked so cute with all the little ones surrounding him, I just had to take a photo. Don't they just look adorable? (Poor Maila is just out of frame)

This is one of him at one of our local orange groves where we like to get oranges to make our own fresh juice. 14 Years Ago I Became the Happiest Woman on Earth

Bill and I are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary today.
After a horrible first marriage, I swore I would never get married again! Bill and I were working together and became good friends but were not looking for a relationship at all, I mean, come on.... look at our age difference, besides I did not want to fall in love -
