Tony Scott Remaking "The Wild Bunch"
Tony Scott ("Deja Vu," "Unstoppable") is in talks to direct a remake of the 1969 Sam Peckinpah-directed classic western "The Wild Bunch" at Warner Bros. Pictures says Deadline.
The original starred the likes of William Holden, Ernest Borgnine, Robert Ryan and Warren Oates and followed an aging group of outlaws out for one last score on the Texas-Mexico border in 1913 as the Old West disappears around them.
Brian Helgeland will draft the script based on a take by Scott and producer Jerry Weintraub. Scott has three films lined up as his potential next project - this, the 2001 Laughlin riots project "Hell's Angels", and a remake of Tom Cruise classic "Top Gun".
