Wallack To Pen "Emily the Strange" Film
Melisa Wallack, who penned Relativity's upcoming "Snow White" film, has been hired to pen the film adaptation of cult comic "Emily the Strange" for Universal Pictures says Heat Vision.
Created in the early 1990's by skateboarder Rob Reger, the character originally appeared on stickers and clothing before moving to comic books in 2005 to expand the brand. The film will serve as the origin story of the gothic and odd young lady who owns four mysterious cats and is able to fuse technology and imagination.
Chloe Moretz remains attached to star. Dark Horse Entertainment has been developing the film since 2008 and Mike Richardson is producing.
