Wahlberg Out, Cooper & De Niro In "Playbook"?

Due to scheduling conflicts it appears Mark Wahlberg will have to depart David O. Russell's "The Silver Linings Playbook" adaptation at The Weinstein Company which begins shooting this Fall.

The filmmaker however looks like he won't be missing out though as "Limitless" actors Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro are in talks to star reports Deadline.

An adaptation of the Matthew Quick novel, the story follows a delusional former high school history teacher who's just been released into the custody of his mom.

Believing that he’s only been away for a few months instead of the four years he just spent in a mental institution, the teacher sets about wooing back his ex-wife.

Cooper and Anne Hathaway had reportedly been attached to the film last year but then Wahlberg look to have emerged as the male lead favourite while Hathaway's "The Dark Knight Rises" commitments ruled her out.

Jennifer Lawrence was then cast in the female lead role and production got pushed back to accommodate her "The Hunger Games" commitments. This lead to the new date which caused a conflict with Wahlberg's commitment to noir drama "Broken City". Wahlberg now looks to have chosen 'City' which is a bigger project and paycheck for the actor.

Cooper is currently shooting Derek Ciafrance's "The Place Beyond The Pines" with Ryan Gosling.
